I loved Sabine Wren inStar Wars Rebels , buther arc in this serial did not sit well with me . We learn that afterRebels , she had a short Erolia minutilla as Ahsoka ’s Padawan , which ended quickly . We also find out that her folk was wipe out during theGreat Purge of Mandalore , leave her a solitudinarian molder with guilt . The once enthusiastic artist and warrior is now a shell of her former self , not wanting to deal with anyone or anything . That was until Ahsoka came along with a way to find Ezra .
During this series , Sabine would , predictably , survive a lightsaber stab wound through the catgut ( that she in all likelihood should n’t have ) . This was the first in a series of predictably disappointing mo in Sabine ’s arc as she goes with Ahsoka to regain Ezra to redeem herself . She set aside herself to be taken captive to see Ezra after believe Ahsoka to be deadened and inexplicably gained Force abilities that many fans did n’t guess she earned . Even though there are possibility and explanations environ this , I agree that Sabine Force pushing Ezra to the ship from that distance in the finale was dead ridiculous .
All in all , I still love Sabine for the graphic symbol she is . She ’s an incredible Mandalorian warrior and artist who was mentally trapped with depression because of everything that fall out to her off - filmdom while still spin from Ezra ’s departure . That said , I believe thather arc in this series was not only the infirm , but also problematic . While Ahsoka was prepare Sabine , I realize it from the slant of learning to sword fight properly , but never did I intend she would become a Force wielder . This is something I still struggle with .
