Through the bulk of the instalment , the screen was split between the party member and DM . However , when combat erupted and the mathematical group went into initiative , Iyengar brought out a miniature readiness of the room , complete withD&Dfigurines for each of the party membersand their enemies . Iyengar ’s prologue detailed the setting - the characters , though still somewhat alien to one another , have already formed a company prior to the start of the cause .

The party is comprised of five characters . Matthew Mercer , Critical Role ’s notable DM , has occupy on the role of histrion for this safari , do as Dariax , a dwarven sorcerer . The adventure began with the party waking up from the previous night ’s festivity in the upper slums of Emon . They grabbed a bite to eat up at a nearby public house , the Third Wing , and realize they do n’t recognise what happened with the Fire Ashari from the previous campaign - they all experienced a workweek - long gap in their memories . Later , they catch a stealer , Poska , lurking by their townhouse . She detail the turf warfare between two factions , the Myriad and the Clasp , and that she represents a third company , the Nameless . Poska then sends the mathematical group on a pursuance to retrieve something worthful from a warehouse in the docks .
The party makes their way to the shoreline , and sneak onto a boat only to find the crew gruesomely murdered belowdecks . They steal a figure of coin and a cursed chest , which they decide to bring in to Poska ’s storage warehouse . While there , the radical is round and they enter into fighting , working together to ferociously take out their resister . After , they loot the warehouse and find it ’s a base for a powerful thieves guild , replete with Residuum , a powerful substance that amplify magic .

Poska returned to her warehouse , litter with corpse and thoroughly looted .
