A Dog’s Journey
In the movieA Dog ’s Journey , we see CJ and Trent . Childhood friend who reconnect as adults , the film experiences their life as 11 years to adulthood through the eyes of the dog Bailey . Bailey is a special dog as he get to dwell the lives of multiple dog .. and through each lifespan , he discover a way to reconnect with CJ .
Playing the teenage adaptation and the adult versions of CJ and Trent are actors Kathryn Prescott and Henry Lau . We fuck off the chance to speak to them about the fashioning of the plastic film , memorise to blab out and play for the flick and more .
Screen Rant : Also no Canis familiaris in this interview . I ’ve seen firedog in all the other interviews and I ’m not meeting one yet .
Henry Lau : Well actually … .(pretends there ’s a wienerwurst behind the chair . )
Kathryn Prescott : There are puppies within the vicinity though .
Screen Rant : I see them .
Kathryn Prescott : You might see one .
Henry Lau : Dogs everywhere .
Screen Rant : Yeah , kind of intemperately not to catch them in this wardrobe junket . First I wanna taper out that was the goal to have more people weep in the interview for this film than inEndgamebecause I palpate like that ’s the edge this picture is gon na have .
Kathryn Prescott : Is Endgame sad ?
Screen bombast : It gets pretty lamentable .
Henry Lau : Have you keep an eye on it yet ?
Kathryn Prescott : No I have n’t pick up it …

Screen blah : We go through quite a bit of your case live in this film , how did you determine the way to pass over the performances when you were play the performances as teenagers till when they were living in New York ?
Henry Lau : in reality that was one of the challenges of this function because we play the characters when they were young in high school and then they get reunited years later when they ’re much elder . So what I actually did was meet with Ian Chen ( who plays Trent age 11 ) , I sire ta see how he acts . He ’s adorable so I constantly attempt to talk to him to see how he play , I tried to mime that in the scenes when they were together in high school .
Screen Rant : I unquestionably saw that . Ian to your teenage character , I see the connection very speedily . “ Oh yeah , there ’s a little bit of similarities . ” Did you ( to Kathryn ) do something very alike to Abby ( Abby Ryder Fortson who plays CJ age 11 ) did you get to talk to her beforehand ?
Kathryn Prescott : I met her beforehand . Yeah and was sustain in nous .. as soon as we met I matte up we really had a lot in common in term of who we were . That was lucky .
Screen Rant : So you took two months of what , guitar training and vocal grooming …
Kathryn Prescott : I think it was two month , yeah …
Screen Rant : … did you actually have any medicine experience before … ?
Kathryn Prescott : No .
Screen Rant : Zero ? !
Screen Rant : So you went from zero to care …
Henry Lau : Hard to believe , she was amazing .
Screen Rant : No , you were great ! specially when we did hear you talk .

Henry Lau : So I ’m a musician , but it ’s funny on this bent SHE was the instrumentalist , but our trailer were justly next to each other . And all I would learn is just guitar playacting . I did n’t countenance her sleep with but I could hear everything . But yeah , she just celebrate work on it and then one day I was like , I catch ta go in there . Not that she was spoiled or anything ! I thought she was amazing it ’s just that one chord that she could n’t get …
