Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

One of the many reasonsMAS*Hwas such a long run show and such a huge hit was just how relatable the character were . With rare exception , none of the regular characters are bad people .

They ’re charming , noble , and sometimes selfless , but above all , they ’re almost all sympathetic .   It ’s almost a foregone conclusion   that the members of a peregrine ground forces hospital all rolled   some kind of healing class during their character creation- maybe druids , bards , or clerics-   but just where do they fall on theD&Dalignment chart ?

Frank Burns: Lawful Evil

Frank is n’t a well person . He like to say he is , and he seems to honestly suppose he is , but he ’s far from it . To begin with , he’sincompetent . He ’s spend his whole tour in Korea cheat on his wife with Margaret Houlihan , telling his married woman he ca n’t wait until he ’s home and promise Margaret at the same time he ’ll entrust his wife for her . He does n’t like Hawkeye and his friends because they do n’t always survey the rules , not because he thinks they ’re unfit citizenry . It does n’t matter if Hawkeye and Company are trying to help someone — Frank only cares that they ’re not following rules that are n’t help anyone .

Henry Blake: True Neutral

Poor Henry is n’t the brightest police officer in the 4077th , and it would be a surprisal that he made it through the ranks to Lieutenant Colonel if we had n’t seen how inept so many of the others that actually worry about their rank and file are . He try out his best most of the meter , but most of what he care about is getting back to the States , drinking , and sportfishing . He does n’t actively care hurt on anyone that comes through his camp , but it usually takes some convincing to get him to go out of his way of life when a picayune something redundant is needed .

Radar O’Reilly: Neutral Good

Radar is always around when- sometimes before- he ’s needed , and has a good , barren eye . Maybe it ’s his Iowa farm bringing up , but he ’s always up for doing his ripe to help someone out . He ’s not always on the up and up about it , though .

If Henry Blake is dithering around when something needs done , Radar is n’t above repeatedly skid in some forms to a pile for Henry to signalise . No one ’s entirely certain where he ’s dumbfound some of the things take around the bivouac , either , but most everyone just accepts that Radar get what they needed .

Father John Mulcahy: Lawful Good

Once in a while , Father Mulcahy will err from his squeaky uninfected riding habit when someone really needs some help he ca n’t allow in the principle , but it is n’t very often . Even when he does roam outside the Army ’s rule , it never swan outside his own set that he feels limn his faith . He ’s always there for anyone that demand him , and he provide some much needed stability for everyone in the chaos that surrounds their lives . If there ’s a paladin case in the 4077th , it ’s this soft spoken non-Christian priest who always steps up whenever he ’s take .

Trapper John McIntyre: Chaotic Neutral

Hawkeye ’s first tent Paraguay tea and friend , Trapper John is n’t necessarily a bad mortal , he ’s just not a great one . He has a wife and two daughter back in the States , but that does n’t stop over him from enjoy his time with the nursemaid in Korea . He even quasi - set on Hawkeye- his best friend- once when Hawkeye tried to keep him from run AWOL , and it would n’t be the first or the last prison term Hawkeye had to keep him from doing something terrible . When it come down to the line he cared about other masses , but commonly , those citizenry were usually second in communication channel to his own wants and smell .

Maxwell Klinger: Chaotic Neutral/Neutral Good

Klinger had such a alteration of theatrical role part of the manner through the series , his alignment had to change with him . When he first seem , he was almost always see cross - dressing as part of an endeavor to get a psychiatrical discharge , and while he would n’t do anything that would harm someone in the pursuit of it , he ’d have done almost anything else to get it .

After Radar gets a discharge , Klinger becomes the company clerk and fix most of his ways . He still utilize some of his old tricks in his raw job to keep everything running- he frequently pretends to be Colonel Potter whenever he demand to be to get things done .

Charles Emerson Winchester III: Neutral Good

Charles may be frequently put out by the shenanigans of his collapsible shelter mates , but there ’s no denying that he ’s a much expert person than Burns , who he supercede in the Swamp . Even if he ’s full of himself and his aristocratic raising , he ’s still a good person even when he is n’t open about it . He ab initio tries to use his sept ’s place to ( de jure ) get him out of his placement at the 4077th , but eventually gives up on that and open up to the people in his newfangled unit . He never quite give up on his deep luxuries , but he go out of his way to avail people he assure in want .

Sherman T. Potter: Neutral Good

Colonel Potter was one of the few Regular Army characters in the show- most of the others were inductee . While in some direction this Army ground meant he expected a little more decorousness out of the people in his command , surviving tenner in the Army and through two World Wars had instruct him that by the book was n’t always for the unspoiled .

He was willing to go around whatever rule he needed to so as to keep his unit happy and stocked , and he was much less willing to allow the by the book Frank do problems with it .

B.J. Hunnicutt: Neutral Good

B.J. is unquestionably a better someone than Trapper was . He has a wife and daughter at home , but when he almost has an affair with a nurse he nearly has a crack-up over his unfaithfulness . He ’s also a much mature fictitious character , and that tends to flavor his actions- he frequently blab out Hawkeye down from some of his more off the paries ideas . He ’s always look out for what adept he can do , but he ’s not too twine up in whether it ’s purely legal or not- he ’s more than willing to bow or break a few rules if it means a positive outcome .

Margaret Houlihan: Lawful Neutral

Houlihan spends the first part of the serial publication having an affair with Frank Burns , and the two of them spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to scotch whatever scheme Hawkeye and friends have going on , even when that strategy is for the good of all . While she ’s a rule follower almost to an extremum , it ’s not well-nigh as much out of spite as it is for Frank . Her magnanimous fault is she wants to be loved but keeps find fault men who ca n’t or wo n’t return it . She does truly handle for the nurses she ’s in cathexis of and the patients that come through the infirmary , and these and other pay off caliber that come through when Frank leaves show she has the electrical capacity to be a better somebody afterwards on .
