The series is set to begin its ninth season in just over a week ’s meter , becoming one of Showtime ’s longest - bunk original series , as well as one of its high rated . She made the announcement today via herFacebookpage , wherein she discussed how much the cast and bunch intend to her , and how being a part of the show was like being in a real phratry . Near the oddment , Rossum described the role of Fiona as“a gift”and discover her years on the show as“the full of my life . ”
“ The chance to act Fiona has been a gift . There are few characters — distaff or otherwise — as superimposed and dynamic . She is a mother Leo , furious , flawed and sexually liberated . Just what kind of impingement Rossum ’s decision to leave behind will have on the show is unreadable . The announcement comes not long after she successfully resolved a dispute regarding adequate pay ahead of season 8 . It ’s safe to say that given how long the show has been on and the endowment imply , Shamelessis by no means a cheap show to produce .
